Chris42Best breadbox?
Looking for the best way to store bread, bagels, muffins, etc. so they last as long as possible.
Currently we have been refridgerating our breads. Anything better?

GustoferI keep my bread in the freezer. It only takes a bit in the toaster to thaw it out and it keeps forever.
Years ago I tried a variety of different bread boxes and never found one that made any difference in bread longevity.

henryaz The new toaster my wife bought has a "frozen" button, and a "bagel" button (for toasting one side only).

Johnny 3eaglesWe were always told not to freeze bread because it will dry out the bread by pulling the moisture out in the freezing process.

JALLENI keep bread in the freezer, typically, as slowly as we use it.
I buy two or three baguettes, chop them up and freeze those. When I want some, I take out what I need and either toast or microwave that.
Same with specialty loaves I sometimes keep on hand, rye, sourdough, pumpernickel, etc.
