Education Secretary Cardona Dodges Question On Physical Differences Between Genders

During a Wednesday budget hearing held by the House Appropriations Committee, Miguel Cardona, the Biden administration’s secretary of education, declined to address the question of whether men and women differ physically.

In regard to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announcement on Monday that it will be excluding biological men who identify as transgender women from participating in women’s sports, Cardona was questioned on the topic at the budget hearing.

According to the Daily Caller, during the hearing, Representative Andy Harris (R-MD) asked Cardona about the significance of Title IX before moving on to ask him about the physical distinctions between men and women.

Title IX is a federal civil rights law that shields people from sexual discrimination in educational programs and activities that are funded by the federal government.

“Would you agree that Title IX was necessary to help establish women’s sports because women can’t fairly be expected to compete on biological male teams?” Harris asked Cardona.

Cardona tried to sidestep the topic at first, but after Harris urged him not to filibuster, he acknowledged the significance of Title IX. Subsequently, Harris inquired if Cardona would concur that women and men are physically different.

“I see where you’re going with this,” Cardona began before being interrupted. After Harris asked the question again, Cardona added that he would “love to talk about how we can work together to support the students.”

Harris tried for a second time to get Cardona to discuss the physical distinctions between males and women in the context of sports.

“Mr. Secretary, do you agree that biological women are different from biological men physically?” Harris asked. “This is a simple question for an educator. You’re not going to answer. Okay.”

Cardona was also questioned over the Biden administration’s position on the NAIA’s most recent ruling during a CNN interview. In his remarks, Cardona vaguely emphasized the significance of “protecting all students and making them feel welcome, seen, and supported.”

However, Cardona failed to mention the slippery slope regarding how granting the “rights” of biological men who identify as women that wish to participate in women’s sports would take away fairness and future opportunities from women competing in their specified gender bracket.

Not specific to the floor debate but to the underlying topic; my son and daughter are two years apart both played high school Lacrosse, both were all stars, my son played in a western all-star tournament. Both played in college, daughter in a big school, son in one a little less so.

My girl's fearless, 3 years HS honors as a goalie. Started as goalie at college and continued for 4 years.
My son was a middie, didn't start as a freshman, did so as a sophomore.
Western state schools so neither were in that elite element of the east.

To the point, as good as my daughter was, as courageous as she is (she was a cop for 8 years too), playing against my son and his team mates at either level in that position she would have been crushed.

Forget the 'killer instinct' which I have questions about anyway, the sheer athleticism, strength and speed of the men was greater than their age peers to the point that it would have been dangerous.

I don't give a rat's patootie about scholarships or honors or going pro. In my mind that isn't what sport is about and for the overwhelming number of participants it isn't either. It's about the game, the race, the sport, playing your best against your peers.
One doesn't have to admit it, but reality tells us that in physical sport the chromosomal mix matters. Dodging the question only shows that the artful dodger knows it too.

I still seem to recall a group of teenage boys kicking the shit out of the cream-of-the-crop US women’s soccer team with ease. Hell, if a team of the least talented NBA men players were pitted against the best women players, the women wouldn’t score a single point. They might not even got a single shot off without it being swatted into the stands. Until every single affected female athlete refuses to play/run/swim/etc. against a man, this madness will continue.

I do not understand why it has not happened yet, especially at a major tournament. If every woman refused to participate, it would render the competition meaningless. And, it would start a meaningful course change.

Yup, just remain on the Starting Line, or Sideline as appropriate. It would be demonstrative as to how glaringly farcical and discriminatory this perverted charade really is. It would be REALLY hard to ignore, especially for nationally televised events. Imagine Sports Commentators being forced to discuss it LIVE on TV in the moment! Throw it right in their face...Just Don't Do it!

Amazing how "feminists" who formerly claimed to be staunch advocates of "Women's Rights" now don't know what a woman is.

I love the meme that goes something like:
"Paul McCartney wrote the song "She's a Woman" despite the fact that he does not have a degree in biology."

... stirred anti-clockwise.

It used to be I would see the bumper stickers "Stop the war on women". I've not seen that for a few years.
