Sorry for your past experience; mine’s been positive.

Time to find a different dealership Mark.

They should have noted on your service records that you have warranty coverage either factory or a service policy especially if you bought it through the dealership and or had anything worked on that was covered by that policy in the past.

So either you are dealing with an extremely incompetent service advisor/manager or one that thought that they could "put one over on you" and charge you customer pay rates parts and labor vs. warranty pay rates. O

I'll bet he was right on top of the whole "wallet flush" game though. They usually are, anything to make a boatload of money off each customer every time they come in whether legitimately needed or not.

I speak from inside experience, 1970 to 2017 in car dealer fixed operations, i.e. parts department. I've seen a lot of it and refused to participate in customer screwing. Just not right.

Same here. The big 3 REFUSE to build cars of comparable quality, so I spend my money elsewhere.

Well, you fellows have got about 6 months to convince me to not buy a new GMC for my new business truck.

The most reliable full-sized pickup on the market is the Toyota Tundra. But if someone must have a domestic, the order is Ford, GM and then dodge. If the truck is actually going to be used for work the gap between Ford and the other domestics is even wider.

I'm no domestic vs import snob but there's got to be a reason that nobody uses a Tundra for their work vehicle (unless we're talking people transportation only). While I've seen people relentlessly stick to a brand, I've never seen anyone go from GM to Ford but the other way around is common.

To be clear, I'm looking for a truck to use for work, not a truck to simply get me to work.

You asked. I told you. You owe me nothing. Wink

Such things do exist although admittedly I don't recall ever seeing one in person. Probably because this type of truck is not nearly heavy enough for the work I do, but it may work fine for what you do.

I've owned all 3. Ford, GMC, and Ram. Each have had their pros and cons.

On a normal fertilizer day I plan to pull out with about 2,800 pounds in the back. Spreader/sprayer and carrier on the hitch, 20 50 pound bags of fertilizer and 200 gallons of liquid. My current truck cannot handle this much so currently I run a 50 gallon tank and 15 bags.

We have a 2013 Buick Enclave and just got a 2018 Toyota Highlander. So far very happy with both!

Ford had our 2016 explorer for 8 weeks trying to fix the transmission. Had the car back a week and found oil on the floor. Now they're fixing that too.

Since I've owned this vehicle:
BLIS System (2)
Transmission (2)
Serpentine belt
Airbag
Seat heater
PTU Seal
Belt tensioner
Rear toe link recall

Now I have to buy an extended warranty. Roll Eyes

Good luck with your buick!

Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed.
Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.
