Like you there are critters here I wished to dispense with w/o use of firearms. Pls note I'm not advocating you to do anything unsafe, however if you have A safe lane or backstop. ...

The Gammo Whisper Fusion in .22 has helped me. It is the quietest version in .22 as it does not break sound barrier with standard weight pellets. I've been effective with head shots in the 20-50 yard range for the critters in my yard. Only about 20-25 ft/lbs of energy tho.
