I knew this would happen sooner or later....

OK, 807 hours over 10-12 seasons on home owner residence.....X300 John Deere was right size for the job we needed done. Served well for decade +, the woe is not taking the hint before last week.

Always dealer serviced for annual; rarely any issues requiring hauling to dealer 45 minutes away.

Last week the Old Gal quits moving forward & coasts to stop, nearly done with entire 'nearly 1 mowable acre'.

Couple months ago, annual service tech calls & gives high quote for repairs/replacement saying "The motor's good, everything else is worn out".
So we fixed it. Ran perfect until....it didn't....

Should have taken the hint.

News from repair: of the potential costly possibilities.....DX is 'snapped transaxle drive shaft'. Cost pushing $1400.

Ordered new X350 John Deere instead.

Sorry for your loss. Have been told that depending on where you purchased the lawn tractor because of different quality of tractor depending on where it was purchased. Like Home Depot/Lowes vs actual John Deere factory supported . Have heard stories of people going to the John Deere factory supported dealership to get repair parts after purchase from a big box store and were told that there were built to a different standard of quality for a lower sales price point. ........ Several years ago after obtaining my mothers old MTD yard tractor mower was able to get several more years of use before it finally died with 34yrs of service. Carb problems. Figured at 34yrs we had got our moneys worth. Ended up purchasing a new ZTR gravely mower. ............................................................. drill sgt.
