Portable Jump Starter Recommendation
I have an Audew for 2 years but haven't had to use it. I do have a reminder in my iPhone to recharge it every 6 months so it's ready to go if the need arises.

After the earlier thread we got a GooLoo GP2000 about two months ago, I made a note to recharge it today. It was down to three bars which may have worked OK, it went back to four in less than an hour.

FWIW, I keep it in the back of the CRV in an unheated but attached garage.

I keep an Audew 2000 in my truck.Have only used it twice - both times on friends 4 cyl cars. And my lawn mower every spring!

Last time I used it was 4-5 mos ago. I recharged it then and it still shows 96%.

I bought 2 1000 Amp ones at half off as Christmas gifts for my 2 grandkids with cars. They were about $25-30 each.

From China unfortunately, but exceptional customer service. They sent a tracking number but not the name of the carrier, so useless. I emailed them and got the correct info - plus about 4 apologetic emails and an extra 10% off for my "inconvenience."

not sure it was this exact thread, but on one of our threads people talked about NOCO GB70

Bought one a few months ago

My Silverado pickup had a dead battery this AM. GB70 worked like a charm

My neighbor is an LEO and just got a new Chev pickup for work. Lots of radios, lights, sirens, etc, that dont always shut completely off like they should. Battery went really dead one day and he was trying to jump start it with his personal car and it wasnt working.

I brought over my Audew 2000 amp, but he had a Noco 1000 amp one he got from work and wanted to try that one first. Amazingly it started right up. That battery only registered 5 volts on my voltmeter and the only thing that worked was the screen backlight in one of the handheld radios.

I've only had to use mine on 4 cyl cars so its nice to feel confident that it will start my truck if needed.

My 2011 Silverado has a feature that can cause problems:

The cigarette lighter stays hot when the engine is turned off.

So if some device is plugged in, turning off the truck means the device still draws on the battery.

Wife got me a Harbor Freight one about 10 years ago. Used it on the truck a couple times and on the zero turn regularly at the start of each mowing season. It just failed last year.

After waiting in the airport long term lot for 2 hours waiting for a courtesy jump I put a noco boost plus (1000 amps) in the wife's car and a noco boost HD (2000 amps).

Great insurance because I have not needed to use either one since, including her car sitting for 11 days at the airport and my truck sitting for 13 days. I top the charge off once a year, they are usually at 90% when I do.

Are there any of these that are NOT made in China?

I recently bought them for our three vehicles, I bought two of the VTOMAN V8 Jump Starter, 2000A Peak and one BRPOM, 3000A Peak.

They all seem to be good units so far with no issues.

I haven't looked closely at all the recommended products. Would they all work with an AGM battery system?

Drifting but this is a growing pet peeve of mine. Boosters, chargers, obd scanners, tpms scanners, nothing made in a first world country.

I wanted one made in the U.S. Best I could find was NOCO.

Trying to decipher the NOCO website, I think that design, engineering, sales, support, etc. are U.S. based and actual manufacturing is Hong Kong.

NOCO is a good one. I have the GB-40. Another SIGforum member has a different brand, tried to start my GMC 3500 truck 5.7L V-8, did not work. My NOCO started it instantly.

MSRP is $125 for this, Amazon is $99, email from WOOT! has it for $79 today.
