Costco actually stocks them in a two pack, a .30 cal can inside a .50 for $20, new. My wife snagged a set for me just a couple weeks ago. I didn’t hold a lot of hope then being high quality, but honestly, they’re just like the surplus ones I own, except new and painted a very dark OD green.

I can't image it. Someone looking for ammo cans in the onesy or twosy range? Why. What about buy 'em cheap and stack 'em deep? A guy should always have extras, empty ones too. Just a few stacks of those, but never on the bottom of filled ones. Toss a board or two down to protect them from moisture coming out of the concrete, if there is any. Cans are just like ammo. You need spares.

10 years ago I had heart surgery. Gawd it was awful (but maybe not as bad as just dying). Back then I had sons I could depend on. So we too the minivan to a gun show. And at the end of one of the aisles a guy had way too many and not a lot of buyers. I asked him where the price break was. He foolishly said at 3 cans. So I asked him where the next break was, and he said 10. So I asked him what 20 cans would cost me. Smile Oldest son started to look concerned and asked me how we were going to get them out to the stupid van. Actually a practical question.

The seller said "loan me your drivers license and use my 2 wheeler." OK, that'll work.

Note to the ammo poor: Don't stack full ones over about 5 high. They tend to get heavy fast. But go ahead and stack the empties higher. Its how you identify full ones from empty ones. Just grab one from up high, Label it! Then fill it with your pleasure. Stack it low.

Get yerself some lube. Yes, its used for other things than yer pecker. Smear some on the gasket, it will thank you. Head out to the welding supply house and get a roller bottle of paint if you don't have a stencil maker. Label it up real good. Then stack it.

Masking tape or painter's tape with a sharpie works too.

Or if you want to get fancy, get some magnetic labels.

I've seen some last week at Costco. Not sure if it's the same as the ones they used to carry that looks pretty much the same as the USGI.

I just compared them to my USGI cans and they're identical, but the Costco cans have new rubber gaskets. The USGI cans I've acquired over the last few years, I was paying about $10 a pop for, so for the same price but a new can with new rubber gaskets, I gotta say, I think the Costco cans are probably a better deal.

Might have been my fault Big Grin. Bought a dozen of the mil. surplus Grade 1 cans last May.

I'm looking for an M139 ammo can, but apparently they've become collectable and I'm not paying $50-$70 for one. Frown

You might check with Palmetto State Armory, I don't know if they have them now but they had a great deal on boxes ~ I bought like 10-12 ( I think it made it qualify for free freight) a while back.
I was a year or two ago but a spectacular deal.

There's some concern about availability but I just bought 2 from my local Academy store the other day for $15 a pop.

Received my three Grade 1 condition 50 cal. ammo cans from Clean-Ammo-Cans.

Well worth the cost. These things are in pristine condition.

Glad you took the reference and it worked out.

Good bunch of people to work with as well (had to call to ask a question and they were great).

I'd be VERY weary of those. I had the handle snap off one that was full of .45ACP ammo while I was taking it off a shelf. I don't trust them personally.

The shipment from Harbor Freight came but only had 4 cans (in a box designed to hold 6)--for some reason they didn't send 5, just 4. I e-mailed them and they are sending another box, no charge, no shipping charge. Should arrive in a day or so. They are very good ammo boxes.
