Pipe SmokerA classic Norman Rockwell painting
Another thread herein brought this to mind.
A run-away boy brought to a lunch counter by a friendly policeman. The boy is in good hands.

12131I could have sworn I saw this Norman Rockwell on here yesterday. Strange.
Anyway, Rockwell is my most favoritest artist. No one can illustrate simpler time America better than he.

Yeah. “Another thread herein brought this to mind.”
I posted the image in that thread but felt that it deserved its own thread.

ftttuThere is this retro mom and pop burger shop I used to eat at while on duty, and they decorated it with NR art as well as classic Coca Cola art/memorabilia. That particular piece was one of them.

sig operatorGot to see a traveling Norman Rockwell exhibit at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Ga. many years ago.
All the Saturday Evening Post magazine covers with labels of who they were mailed to.
A lot of his paintings were on display, Shuffleton's Barber Shop, Self Portrait, and Rosie the Riveter to name some.
I hope that memory lasts a long time.
P.S. there is a museum in Stockbridge Massachusetts
He had a way of touching the pulse of American, and pictures do not have the impact of his paintings in person. Go see them if you have the opportunity.
