Or crazy. I'm sure there's people out there who drink their own urine not at all because they have to. I mean, if you're marketing to those people, that's also kinda specific in a not-so-great way.

Holy shit, Kel Tec....

They can on the Space Station buy that's a different situation. Wink

What?

How did the gun get someone to drink their own urine?

You could trade the Kel-Tec for a square yard or two of clear plastic sheet from a passing nomad, then use the plastic to build a solar still for your pee?

Just spit-balling here...

I don’t understand all the Kel-Tec piling on by many in this forum. I doubt most of you have ever even touched a Kel-Tec, but you merrily pile on anyway. As a P-32 and Sub2000 owner, I find it a little bit disconcerting here. You all DO know that LBJ is also a KT owner?

Yeah. I mean, I get the point they're trying to make, but associating urine with your product is not exactly a positive association.

I thought you were slamming Kel-Tec, so I was just pointing out that the gun did it's job.

Little aside here, I don't own a Kel-Tec and have no axe to grind or horse in the race, but I shoot a lot of action sports and I have seen three friends use Sub2000's in IDPA and USPSA new PCC classification and have major problems. Primarily with the charging handle breaking off during the course of fire. Repeatedly even after being replaced. Now, I think they are pretty cool guns for a specific use, backpacking, or super concealment, infrequent use type scenarios where something is better than nothing, but buyer beware. But with that said you wouldn't expect a base level ford focus to stand up to weekly race track use either.

Regardless of the merits or demerits of the gun itself, you have to admit that it's an incredibly weird marketing strategy to equate your product with drinking urine.

Well I wonder what other ads are being discussed and analyzed among gun owners? From that standpoint I would say mission accomplished Kel Tec. I wouldn't have penned that ad but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if I thought I wanted that gun (which incidentally I didn't know existed until a few minutes ago). In my opinion the advertiser got what they were paying for.

I don't look to what others own to justify what I own.

Never owned a KT, but I have shot 4, maybe 5 of them. P3AT, a 9MM something pistol, Sub2000, RDB, and a KSG. So I guess 5 of them.

P3AT was ok, the 9MM pistol a jammomatic, Sub2000 was just awkward and seemed like a cheap toy, the RDB was actually interesting & accurate, but the owner later told me it broke and had to go back for repairs, as did his KSG.

So yeah, I've shot some of them and like I said, I'd take one for free, but that's about it.

But if they work for you, what others say about it shouldn't hurt your feelings. I mean, they are better than harsh language. Mostly.

Big Grin

I have tried but I cannot figure out what the heck you are trying to say here. I assume something funny but I don't get it. My intent was to say if you cannot carry a full size carbine in a certain situation, the the collapsable sub 2000 might be better than having nothing. Like the argument to carry a mouse gun when you can verses not carrying a full size pistol.
