Why doesn't this surprise me? Somehow, PNW and barbecue just don't seem compatible. Maybe a lush green salad or something, but barbecue? Nah. Tough luck.

My last trip through the south I tried Dreamland BBQ. In the south I expect a home run or a grand slam. Dreamland was a base hit. It was okay, but I've had BBQ here in Colorado that is better.

Being from Texas I have to say that the best BBQ I have ever had has come from either Blacks or Kruez BBQ in Lockhart, Tx.

I have tried many other places throughout the country and always found them lacking. There are a couple of places in Florida that are tolerable, but at the end of the meal, I keep comparing them to what I grew up eating, and then get home sick for good brisket.

I travel into Georgia quite a bit. The next time I am up there I will see what they offer.

Well at least OP found something he really likes. Been to Indiana and went to Bandana's and Texas Road House in Terra Haute it was ok but wasn't "fall off the bone" goodness like I imagined it would be. Maybe they smoke it for thirteen hours in time for lunch? But by dinner time they seem kinda hard and chewy.
