I harvested my best mulie buck last week in Central Alberta and a nice bull moose on Day 8 of a ten day hunt. The rifle used was a Remington Model 700 Classic in .35 Whelen.

AK, what caliber was it she shot that with??

She shot it with her 308, when it took 2 steps towards the swamp I crammed a 45-70 into its spine and lungs..and it dropped DRT.

Too stoopid to post a pic, but daughter-in-law dropped a 7pt Sunday a.m. in Scott City, MO. 1 shot to the heart with a Savage Axis 7mm-08, Leupold scope @175yds. 130# hang weight. She'll cross-bow hunt this weekend.

My son's first hunt. 200 yard shot. First shot took off a brow-tine, the second was perfect.

Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

As I neglected to post the first 2 this season, here is number 3. Nice eating mid sized doe on the last day of the season here in WV and with a 1/2 of daylight left. Rifle is a Marlin 1894SS .44mag shortened to 16.25” topped with a Leupold Mark AR 1 firedot.

2 outings today, nothing to show yet. Had 7 deer in sight but too far to confirm, just knew it was 4 buck 3 doe. Lost daylight before they got close enough.
Hoping the forecast rain holds off.

This was not the way I wanted to recover this deer. On 11/2/19 I put a poor shot on him with the crossbow. I must have walked a few yards from him while searching (hours). The landowner found him.

I ended up hunting this year. It was the first time in 5 years I had put any effort into hunting. I enjoyed my time.

I ended up making:
135lbs of summer sausage,
50lbs of ground,
35lbs of snack sticks,
35lbs of dry tuscan salami
35lbs of Dry pepperoni
25lbs of Lamb salami
30lbs of venison pastrami
40lbs of hot dogs,
35lbs of Hungarian paprika sausage,
18lbs of Moroccan sausage,
2lbs of jerky.

other than the jerky, 75% venison/25% pork shoulder is the mix.

I have had a blast. I ended up punching 9 tags out of the 12 tags I had this year. (3 will transfer over till nov next year.)

one decent medium sized 6 point,
One Small 6 point
one Forked Spike,
One button button buck
5 does.

With Virginia's new leftist government I have scrubbed all my images off the internet till i find out what direction these new shitastic laws go.

Wow, that is awsome. I can tell you're a classic sportman by your gun and cartride. The 35 Whelen is an incredibly efficient and effective classic with good old fashioned whoopass. Modern glass and classic gun, very nice combination. I never had a 35 Whelen but I've always admired the cartridge. Congratulations dude !
