I'm at a conference but have some flexibility tomorrow. Will be driving from the Palm Springs area to LA. Any 'must dos' or 'must sees' in that area.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Don’t!

Drive to Santa Barbara/Goleta instead, and have a nice dinner with a quiet place to stay.

There’s an airport there if needed.

Or head the other direction and do something in Vegas, instead.

There's a nice aircraft museum at the Palm Springs airport.

Kinda vague with your info...are you looking to spend the night in the 'LA area' or, thinking of a long day-trip? 'LA area' is VERY big, and movement is dictated by traffic patterns.

Looking for some unique eats? Palm Springs while not a wasteland is gastronomically limited. Are you into museums? Unique neighborhoods? Check out a coastal community?

Don't come to LA for a day trip. Traffic is bad and isn't getting better and no matter where you go at most any time of the day you'll encounter bad traffic, especially in the morning. You'll starting hitting a wall of traffic no matter which freeway you take.

My suggestion would be to stay in PS and go to the Palm Springs Zoo that's in La Quinta. It's truly a hidden gem and right now the weather isn't overly hot so you don't have to flee the heat.

Also consider the Palm Springs Arial Tramway which is one the west side of Palm Springs heading out of town on Hwy 111. Pretty awesome to go up through the seven different climate zones and you will be surprised at how cold it is at the top. Fantastic views from the top and if it's clear, you can see for more than a hundred miles.

Finish off your day at Ruth's Chris steakhouse in Rancho Mirage.

How is this a suggestion that helps the OP?

Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.
