Another “what is this”: pipe fitting
It broke off the intake of my air compressor. I need to replace it. It would be nice if it had a 1 inch NPT female fitting on the other end, but I can make something else work. What is this type of flange called and where can I get another one?

The pipe is 1" in diameter; the holes are 1/2".

Looks like an elbow from a Briggs and Stratton small engine carburetor. Mount is very similar to what you have.

Inlet or intake manifold?

Name of compressor or head unit if you know?

Inlet directly connecting the filter to the head of the first stage cylinder. It's the elbow in the top left (under the filter) in the pic, below. The compressor is Mac Tools branded but made by Sanborn in Minnesota. The front of the pump crankcase has "IMC" in the casting. Didn't that become BelAire?

AH HA! I just found this:

The link to Part #3 is $64. Geez.

looks like pot metal, do you have the other part, perhaps some form of adhesive will put it back together, JB Weld maybe, it just holds the air filter that might work.

Yeah. Regular JB Weld and slather it on like a Saigon Hewer's makeup. It'll hold.

The other half is intact, and they fit together perfectly. I tried JB Weld. The vibration when running shook it apart. I thought it would hold, too.

What pump head is on it?

This is for a T-39.

Metal intake elbow.

See if the intake is threaded for a pipe.
Many use a standard pipe to install the intake muffler, so a standard 90 degree elbow can go in it.

It's not threaded in the aluminum head; it just has the two bolt holes for the flange. Mine sure as hell looks like a T-39 based on the exploded diagram. If it wasn't shitty pot metal, I would have welded it up. Frown

It seems nobody below the ~$60 level has it in stock.

I'm still happy to have ID'd the part!

Make a flat steel flange. Hole for bolts and center hole threaded for pipe

I thought about that, but I'm still trying to organize/set up the shop. Everything is in disarray! Red Face

Just pay the $64.......Or put something over the old one such as pantyhose to catch any debris if it's not in a dusty place.

I DO have some old pantyhose that no longer fits, so…
