No I am just learning my self.

My wife and I have 2 of the Ionic Breeze systems from Sharper Image from many years ago. They did not have any filters in them nor a fan.
They use some sort of collection plate to grab the stuff in the air and a UV light that was suppose to take care of Viruses and Bacteria.

My wife and I are now looking for a system that uses a fan and an actual filter system. The community we live in was built in the middle of an old orange grove. One house over are the old fields and we tend to get a lot of fine dust in the house. I can vacuum 2 to 3 times a week and I am amazed at how much dust the vacuum picks up every time.
I use good 3M filters on my A/C system that are supposed to be good for 90 days. Sometimes depending on the time of the year I can get 4 to 6 weeks before I have to change them.

So far I am impressed with the recommendations offered and I am trying to narrow it down.

I spoke to a retailer that carried High end purifiers from Switzerland for 15 years.
( started at $1000.00 )

He told me that if I did not have any sensitive respiratory conditions I should consider a higher end non Hepa air purifier.

and avoid the electric zappers that emit ozone .

Unless a doctor specifically prescribes it.

from what I am shopping for , $175.00 to $225.00 is very doable

I use the older model of one similar to this one. I got tired of buying filters because after time they would get discontinued and I was SOL. I have used this one for over six years and it is still going strong. I just either wash or use my air compressor to clean it.

We bought one of these at CostCo after my wife did some extensive research. Seems like it's helping some.

I keep mine in the kitchen during the day and move it to the bedroom at night. My cat was still alive for the first 3 months I had it and from photos in the reviews of this unit showed tons of pet hair in the filter, but I never saw a single cat hair in any of the filters. I’m considering purchasing another one so I don’t have to move it every night and morning.

Costco sells Winix and Blueair..

CFL is a dust magnet area, you'd think it's in the middle of the Sahara and it's been a PIA for me with allergies to Dust being the top problem.

Been thinking of putting a larger filter housing on the AC unit to help with filtration, and then add in some form of HEPA filter.

We had one from Home Despot for a while, it sucked a ton of dust and dander out of the air in the bedroom, haven't replaced it yet, perhaps it's time to consider one...

The Blueair Classic 580 is on sale now with $250 off msrp
