that agrees with my aging recall. If everybody that's 'there' gets one it's an award-nothin to be ashamed of but you aren't decorated. Those go one at a time.

The term 'decorated' means as much as 'military grade' - it sounds impressive but in reality is pretty much meaningless.

She got 'show up and didn't get arrested' medals. The National Defense medal is given to EVERYBODY serving during a certain time frame (back in my day, this was at least 2 full decades).
