Of all the years I spent taking service calls in the French Quarter the only time I was attacked was by a homeless guy's chihuahua as I walked past them on the sidewalk.
The dog snarled then lunged at me and nipped me on the ankle. The man apologized, I just told him it was ok.
Little did I know how close I came to being ripped to shreds!

My grandfather’s twin brother had a Chihuahua that was the meanest, barkiest, “Ima gonna rip you to shreds” little dog I ever saw. His other dogs over the years were so sweet but that one was nuts.
About twenty years after my great uncle was gone, we were at a family event when I heard someone talking about a mean dog. I mentioned that little Chihuahua and everyone laughed. That was the one they were discussing!

Daughter had one, she got it way to soon, it was so small it fit in the palm of my hand, all the ones I'd come up on were nervous and twitchy, this one was a sweet as could be. She lost Mia a couple of years ago...
She would light up the door anytime anyone came over though...

I was bitten by dogs a number of times when I was a cop. The Chihuahua was the most bitey. They were an ambush predator, lunging out from under or behind furniture to put the chomp on me!

I read somewhere that Chihuahuas bite more people than any other dog breed. And I have no doubts on that! Every one I’ve ever came across was an asshole.
