I was disappointed to read about the British snowflake who gave up his guns after becoming a US citizen. He is a good example of a once proud country yielding to the slow erosion of its culture by the subtle and corrosive propaganda of a socialist left that seeks to pacify an feminize a nation. This will set the stage for a totalitarian socialist government or islamic theocracy that the British may eventually be powerless to resist. The British were once made of sterner stuff. My Manchester England born paternal Grandfather immigrated with his parents to North America eventually settling in Canada. He worked as a logger and in the logging camps, became a bare fisted prize fighter in the days before gloves, eventually having some success in the professional ring. He married my Grandmother, who was born to a British army couple on an army base in India. My great grandfather, a British officer retired to Canada and even in his later years slept with his Wilkerson sword strapped to the headboard above him, always within arms reach. My grandfather’s children were born British subjects in Canada, but he yearned for the United States. After having a conversion experience, he became a preacher like his father. He eventually received approval for the citizenship process and moved to Illinois. After reading and hearing about Texas, he moved the family to a small Texas coastal community. The family embraced the freedoms America had to offer and became proud Texans. The hunting culture became a family tradition that has been passed down to each generation of men and women. Thanksgiving is celebrated by eating game taken at a family ranch. My Grandfather built a Baptist church on the Texas coast and preached there until he died in the early 1950s. He was know as the Englishman who was afraid of no man. He was a fierce defender of American founding documents. As a follower of original Baptist traditions he supported church/state separation and spoke out vehemently against prayer in school. Being from England, he was aware of the shortcomings of a government/church state. In England, even in the early 1900s, there was discrimination against non Anglican church members both protestant and Catholic. My father had never seen a gun until moving to Texas. He and the rest of his siblings became enthusiastic hunters and fishers. When I was young, my dad kept a Colt 44.40 six shooter and a shotgun in the house. My mom, whose ancestors came to Texas after being on the losing side of the civil war, were of pioneer and cowboy stock and were more than familiar with guns. She was not concerned or opposed to firearms. When a proud and noble bunch like the British begin to falter, we Americans should take notice. It’s a warning sign. We are being taken from within. Britain is further along than we are in a journey into the rocks. If it can happen to the Brits , it can happen to us. My father’s family were Brits who were made of stern stuff. They were warriors, brawlers, patriots and men of principal who yearned to be American and were proud to call themselves Texans. They embraced the American dream. My father and grandfather, if alive, would wonder what in the hell happened to the English.

My immigrant (OK, colonists) forebears beat his forebears butts by the boatloads they sent, twice. And my indigenous forebears made popcorn. So he can STFU. Happy Columbus Day. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא שוב!
