How to remove the smell of Febreeze? Anyone know a way that works?
Does anyone here know a way to remove the smell of Febreeze from clothes, fabric, and hard surfaces? Vinegar in the wash doesn't help. Nothing seems to work.

Start a fire in the fireplace and don’t open the flue.
Problem solved.
I have confirmed this will remove any smell from clothes.

I don't know how to remove the smell, but I gotta say if you're having a problem with lingering odor from the product you must be using it too liberally.

I've never used it. I've had bad luck with a few things I've bought which had this problem. I made the mistake thinking it would be simple to remove. I've not been successful yet.

Have you tried the scent eliminator sprays used by archery hunters?

This pretty much takes over most odors...if the fireplace thing doesn't work ...I've never experienced Febreze being that overbearing, especially on hard surfaces...

Don’t know how much you want to spend, but an ozone scent eliminator should do it. Ozone air fresheners work really well. We used to have one that would eliminate the smoker smell in a used car. You could put your clothes in a bag with one. Even an el cheapo, truck stop sold Chinese piece of crap one would probably get the job done.

Ozone machines do work great at removing odors, but you don’t want to be around when they are running, goes for pets too.

I’m wondering, if Febreze is an odor eliminator, how they get a scent into it to begin with. This message has been edited. Last edited by: frayedends, November 10, 2018 07:45 PM

I have always used coffee to get rid of nasty smells. I have never had to use it for clothes but maybe a light sprinkle on the clothes and let them sit for a bit before you wash them. You could just rub it on the counter and let it sit then wash it off. Worth a shot and I would rather smell like coffee than Febreeze.
