thumperfbcWho else has had a relatively severe ankle sprain? UPDATE:MRI is in...
Early this morning I officially notified my case manager that I would like to change my primary care physician for this worker's comp case. This was spurred, in part, because the original PCP still had not responded to me about requesting a second opinion after 4 workdays... that and because the original health care group sent me to a doctor currently under investigation and pending the loss of his license.
I was initially hesitant to do so because I was worried it would just make things take even longer, but the case manager assured me the Physical Therapy that finally started this week (4.5 months to get it approved) would not be affected. By 9:30 am the new doctor's office called to inform me that the doctor had reviewed my file and would be happy to assume care. They offered to get me in to see him within 2 hours, but I couldn't get there today, but I am going Monday.
I'm hoping this will help move things along at a faster pace. I'd also like to have a conversation with an MD about the conflicting diagnosis between the Radiologist and the Podiatrist (the one I won't be returning to).
Hopefully this PCP will get me a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. I'd really like some answers.
