La Nina effect and Hurricanes
I remember the bad Hurricane seasons of 2010, 2011 and 2012. These were blamed on the La Nina effect. We are just coming out of a La Nina for 2021. NOAA predicted an active hurricane season for 2021.
Didn't pay much attention to this in the past--it is cyclic in nature and we may be in that cycle this year.

Since the whole "global warming generated super-duper hypercane" doom and gloom scenario has fallen flat for years, "climate change driven mega-super fire" is the boogeyman of choice right now. Nevermind that the wildland fire has been horribly mismanaged for nearly a century. It's the climate shift, doncha know...

Overheard on the news that the fires near Lake Tahoe were the first there in 80 years. 80 years. I think that may have had something to do with the intensity.
