I rarely caught The Midnight Special, but mostly did because of Wolfman Jack. Their attempt to mirror disco on the dance floor set lasted perhaps a year according to the Wiki. And then disco went into hibernation...

Mars, thats the the stuff that the DJs were asked to play to get people off the dance floor and line them up at the bars , that and get them into the bathrooms. Here's another one That would send them running.

^^^^^^^In my younger years I liked ELO. Had a couple of their albums. But now in my latter years my mind imagines Elaine Benes dancing to it. Ruins the whole vibe, yo.

I was an Army Brat teenager in Germany during those days I would go back in time in a heartbeat. Was I a big disco fan, not really but I realized the ladies liked it and that is all it took. Clubbing drinking and and and.... Dad got orders back to the states and the party was over. Soon as I was old enough to join I took European Option and enlisted, the 80's were not bad either.

I feel sorry for kids now who only listen to a single genre of music. Late 70s we listened to everything. I lived in a big music college town. On a single night we would hit rock and roll, disco and rough red neck country bars and dance to all of it. So much fun! We also went to symphony, opera and world famous jazz band concerts.
