Looking for your impressions of them.

Seem like a solid piece for the money. Lots of other sliders are running well above 1k even before shipping.

While I don't have experience with those particular sliders, they don't call it ShittyBuilt for nothing. Their stuff isn't awful, but you get what you pay for and Smittybuilt isn't very expensive. If you're doing it for looks, go for it. If you're going to beat on it it might be better for you to spend a little bit more.

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

I have not heard of them before what are their issues?

Crap material, finish, poor fitment, bad welds??

I am Mostly looking for a more solid step than my plastic running boards, looks are a plus, but there will occasional protection.

I really like the looks of these but the biggest thing they use a modular mounting system. I am putting these on an Expedition so far less modification than other models that have fixed mounting.

Poor fit and finish, and poor customer service are the issues I've heard with them. They also sell more parts than damn near anybody so it could just be sour grapes from the small percentage of people who have had issues. It sounds like they would be perfect for your use though, since you aren't going to be banging them off of rocks. They will be much sturdier than the plastic running boards you have now.

I agree, they look great, are a good price, and should be just fine for your use.

I put a ~$400 set of "N-FAB" nerf bars on my F-150 and banged 'em off a few rocks in Canyonlands with no issues. Not hard-core rock-crawling of course, just driving around with the family. I did have her in 4 low once...

The modular N-Fab bars look great on an F150 if the OE steps won't cut it. They'd have been my desire if I had been wanting to replace my steps.

I like the N Fab Podium Steps.
But they do not use a modular mounting bracket so I would have to hack them up a lot more and risk damaging the main tube getting the brackets off.
