ASKSmithDo you believe in the paranormal? I may have just been converted...
Yesterday, I had the most bizarre experience as a mail carrier. Possibly the most bizarre experience of my life.
I have a retired carrier “Dave”, that lives in an apartment complex on my route, along with his wife. Dave has been retired for over 30yrs. Both his wife and Dave are easily in their 90’s.
They live on the ground floor of the complex, so when Dave sees me pull up, he’ll come to the cluster box to talk “mailman”.
About two weeks ago, he came up to talk to me. He did not have any mail that day, so we just talked. I recall telling him he was lucky he never had to deal with Covid 19. I don’t recall him actually talking to me, but he had this very unique smirky laugh. I even joked with him about carrying during the Spanish Flu epidemic due to his age. Due to the weather, and Covid 19, I can’t recall the last time I spoke with him prior to two weeks ago.
His wife put in a change of address for herself only about a week ago. I thought it was odd, but she was in worse shape than Dave, and I just assumed she had been put in an assisted living home.
Today I noticed the apartment was empty, and there were 4 neighbors sitting outside. I asked them if both Dave and his wife moved out.
After a long pause, and looking at me like I was crazy, they told me Dave died in February.
RIP, Dave.
“David was an avid gardener and loved supporting local sports teams, especially the Steelers. He enjoyed working as a letter carrier for many years for the United States Postal Service and spending time with his family and friends. David was a gentle and kind soul that will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.”

RogBReminds me of a well known ghost story told by Telly Savalas. Supposedly a first hand experience.

No, but as demonstrated in countless ways, most people do believe in some aspect of the supernatural. And if we believe that some supernatural forces or effects are possible, then why draw any lines? Why are others that people believe in not possible? None is more—or less—likely than any other.

I believe some dogs can detect cancer, some cats display empathy bordering on ESP and that there is another world of stuff we don't know.

parabellumDon't post ghost stories in this forum. I have no tolerance for fantasies presented as reality.
