RichardCDo you have Samsung Global Goals on your cell phone?
https://x.com/datarepublican/s...360353888387135?s=42" Hidden UN App Preinstalled on Samsung Phones: Your Tax Dollars at Work
Thank you @MrsDrLinda for the tip.
Did you know your Samsung phone might be quietly running a United Nations app you didn't ask for?
It's called Samsung Global Goals, and it's preinstalled by default on some Samsung Galaxy devices. Yes, really.
Let’s break it down. '
https://threadreaderapp.com/th...360353888387135.htmlIt WAS on mine.

"The app promotes the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) like global redistribution, "climate and environmental degradation," and "inequality."
It was developed by Samsung, but in direct partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
It's their agenda, on your phone."

RichardCGo to your settings page, scroll down to Apps, it's way down on the alpha ethical listing as 'Samsung Global Goals'...
There should be an 'uninstall' button.

Looked again for an Ethical section, then realized this was a typo for alphabetical.

229DAKMy S7 is too old to have it and receives no updates anymore.
However, if it's on your phone and you don't know it's there, what is it actually doing? Is it somehow secretly spying on you and reporting back to the UN?
For example, my phone keeps loading a print spooler, although I have NEVER printed anything from my phone. Unless I clean out the phone's memory, I don't know it's there and it's not doing anything (but annoying me).

SpinZoneIt wasn’t on my S21 Ultra but I may have remove previously. I go through my apps listing pretty regularly and research/remove app that I don’t recognize.
I also go through my permissions listing as well.

BytesI don't have Samsung devices but this is really disturbing. After researching it, seems like some of the new devices can't uninstall it (it's in the firmware and or system apps), some devices continue to get it reinstalled on updates, and some of the older devices that got infested with it can uninstall and it doesn't come back.

PatenI can't see it on my Galaxy S25 Plus. It must be something that asks to install itself during setup that most people just click yes on. I always say no.

trapper189Samsung says you use the app to watch advertisements. The app gives money to which ever of 17 UN Global Goals you've chosen to support based on how many advertisements you watch and Samsung will match to contribution.

V-TailIf I were to use an Android phone, it would be a Google Pixel. Android OS, and little if any bloatware installed.
I use iPhones. There are a few Apple apps, facetime for example, that I do not use, and can not be deleted. I move these into a folder labeled "Not Used" or something similar. This removes the icons for these apps from direct view on the screen and minimizes the probability that I will accidentally tap on one; it takes two taps to get to them. First to open the folder, then another tap to select the app.
