I have no idea what I just watched.
An avalanche tearing down a narrow canyon. Fine particles of snow and ice flying everywhere.

Mother Nature at her finest.

The thing that I'm confused about is that there is no snow in that canyon that I saw. It just didn't look like a normal avalanche to me.
The snow and ice are at a much higher elevation. Look at the top of the video as soon as the avalanche starts. I think it had started before the guy starts videoing the event.

We were north of San Bernadino. Clear day but we noticed a thick white cloud on the ridge ahead of us. It was slow moving but looked much like the video. When we met up it was thick opaque fog. Traffic was bumper to bumper.

They certainly enjoyed it. Of course they probably could not use those tents or sleeping bags again on that trip - but that's the price of admission.
