Interesting how much better Apple is than Google in protecting your privacy. Maybe Apple isn't the boogie man after all. After watching the video I downloaded OsmAnd, as I like the idea of an offline map. You can download the map for an area, but don't need cellular service to use it. But, I couldn't get it to set a route to my business, which has been in the same location for 38 years. It couldn't find it by name, and it couldn't find the address. So that's my quick and dirty review. I deleted the app.

This was addressed in the video. You want to have your cake and eat it, too. These offline maps (at present) can tell you how to get to a general location. Imagine cell service is down and you need to get to a place somewhere else in your state, and you don't know how to get there. You ought to reinstall the app. One day, you may really wish you had kept it.

I have an offline map that works wonderfully without any cell phone connections. It's made by Garmin. I've stopped counting.

My wife will only use Waze. Has tried both Apple and Google maps and likes Waze better.
