Collins joins GOP traitors in shooting down repeal of O-care

This is not the first time this bitch has betrayed us. I can't wait to vote her out. If I'm gonna have a Democrat senator, I at least want one with the balls to put the (D) behind his name.

Even give a somewhat extensive vocabulary gleaned from 22 years of military service and another 15 of hanging out with firefighters, I can't muster up enough pejoratives to fully convey my disdain for this harpy.

Very shrewd!

Thanks to your advanced political strategery, we would have Chuck Schumer calling the tunes, some really gruesome Commies running hearings and deciding if and when to call them, and some Supreme Court seats gone for our lifetimes and beyond.

The sainted Ronald Reagan taught "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican" and until we go back to that, misery and fear will be our constant companions, and success always a vote away.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I take your point, but she CONSISTENTLY votes the democratic line anyway, so what good is she?

Did she vote for Justice Gorsuch?

RINO's vote the way they do precisely because there are no consequences. As a former ME resident I wrote her MANY letters on many subjects and got canned responses back. She consistently voted against what I stood for, so no, I would never vote for her again. BTW, three dems voted for Gorsuch so I would have been OK losing her. Voting for Gorsuch doesn't make her a republican any more than it makes Manchin one.

She is just another example of why the republicans need to get rid of the archaic "rules" that are allowing the democrats do thoroughly drive policy in a completely republican administration.

The threat to make (and then execute, if needed) is to support (i.e. donate to) primary opponents. Even RINOs need to win primaries before becoming the lesser of two evils. Wink

My two Senators (Burr and Tillis) seem to know the score, as far as I know. Hopefully those in states with pseudo-Republican senators like Collins will contact their paid help and let them know where they should be standing on full repeal.

You have to beat these RINOs in the primaries. Another democrat in the House or Senate is simply unacceptable. Even a RINO is better than a no good commie democrat. At least that is true today.

Beat them in the primaries!

These are not RINO's. They are the current state of the Republican party.

All one needs do is to look at why we can't simply repeal the ACA. All one need do is look at the years and years of deficit budgets, of Continuing Resolutions. All one needs do is look at the continuance of the NSA and Patriot Act

The Republican Party no longer represents economic fiscal responsibility nor liberty or freedom.

But it's the best hope we have.

The Republican Party is a loose gaggle of warring purists who cannot understand that ideological purity very often exempts one from the burden of holding office.

I doubt that anyone but a Liberal-Progressive can be elected from Maine.

While Susan Collins and her former college Olympia Snowe were both very progressive, as long as they caucused with the GOP they helped make the GOP majority.
King who replaced Snowe is an "independent" and caucuses with the Democrats giving Chuckie Schumer one more vote toward a Democrat Majority.

While Collins is worthless as was Snowe, they at least keep the vote out of the Democrat Side.

Plus, as jallen says, most of the time, most of the RINOs do support POTUS appointees and generally vote with the GOP caucus except for the difficult votes.

So unless Collins can be replaced with a Conservative, which I doubt very much, she remains better than another King.

You must fully support the republican party even if they don't represent you is the incorrect response for this point in time.

Many/Most? Senators and congressmen represent themselves and thus corporations, industries, foreign countries vs their citizens.

Time to throw the money changers out.

We are getting to that point.
You have to take it on a case by case basis but you do have to ask yourself who are they representing?

By the time they've been elected to Congress, especially re-elected, they've lost all sense of ideology or firm principle. There are few exceptions.

The Republican Party is not the office holders, but the people who support and vote for those office holders.

There is no point in worrying about winning if everyone supports only the candidate that represents their philosophy 100%, no deviation. One vote, one position paper, one statement in the wrong tone, and they drop that guy like a hot rock.
