Great day at the gun range today Login/Join

Took the family out for a little shooting and went to a local gun range. It was kind of busy and we had to wait about 15 minutes or so for a lane to open up. There were 3 of us shooting and we only got one lane initially, which was not going to work. So as the place started to clear out, I went back to the counter and bought some time for another lane. I was told they were having a raffle,so each time I bought/rented a lane, I got a chance/ticket for the raffle.

Turns out, there are new owners to the place and unbeknownst to us they had a raffle going on for the weekend. After we were done shooting, they said they would draw the winners later after they close. So, I wound up getting a call a few hours later saying I won a 1 month membership to the range. Another 10 minutes later I got a call from them saying I won 300 rounds of factory 9mm ammo, as I got two entries. All in all a great day.

I also wound up getting a used Hi-Point pretty cheap, I know HI-Point but they are a good camping gun/truck gun.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Congrats! It does sound like a great time. Whenever my wife shoots with me we always mention how much fun, and how relaxing it is to target shoot.

Probably seems counter intuitive to those who don’t shoot, but I suspect a lot of shooters agree it’s a great way to spend time together.
