That's loaded ammo. Then I like having twice that again in reloading supplies (except the 7.62x39, 22's and 12 gauge)

Well well well, the FedEx truck stopped by mere moments ago.
My 7.62X51 Prvi Partizan and Winchester 124gr 9MM NATO have arrived. I have a business meeting soon, so I will fondle it later. I did pull out some rounds of both, they are date stamped 16 and look real good.
It would appear that oldest daughter and I are well stocked for our next range session.

I didn't say I have that amount yet I answered lbj's question with what I would like to get to
.... but, I am close on a few of them and have most of the reloading supplies.
The main thing I'm buying now are what I don't/can't reload - 22's, 7.62x39, and 12 gauge. I'm also stocking up on SD/HD ammo for 223, 9mm, and 45ACP. The rest is going into more bullets. I think I have plenty of powder and primers.

Seems to me you and I did this before and that I'm a piker. Until someone posts a bigger stash, that makes you The Big Kahuna.
Look what came today, 500rds of each.

Cool, maybe I am not an ammoholic after all. Wait, you said exclude 22, not exclude rimfire. I'd have to count if .17HMR isn't excluded too. Crud! I guess I just won't count and won't admit, then per your definition I am not an ammoholic. Next time Mrs slosig accuses me of going overboard I'll tell her captain127 says I'm not. Thanks!

Here's what I would want: 10k of 5.45 7.5K IMI M193 5.56 4K 7.62X51 NATO 5K 9mm
What would your ideal stash look like, within reason of course.
My ideal stash has nothing to do with reason.
Reason is highly overrated.

Yeah, luckily I bought up 5.45x39 when it was around $100 dollars per 1080 tin. I have a few thousand more stashed down at the lake.

Out West
Here is what helped me get over (somewhat) my compulsion to buy more and more ammo. I took a day to pull it all out of the closet and pull an inventory. I put all into a spreadsheet. By caliber, bullet type, velocity, purpose (hunting, self defense, target, etc.) and whatever relevant criteria there might be. I surprised myself by finding all kinds of stuff I'd forgotten. Also, calculating based upon my current rate of consumption, I learned that there is no way I'll use it all before I croak.
It took the pressure off.

I still wish that I'd hit BUY in the $1K on 22LR back in '08. It was in the cart and was right at 30K+ rounds. Back when a 500rd bulk was in the $12.95-15.95 range.
Even so, I'm pretty good in the 22 department.

I don't know about you, but that 7.62x51 appears to be some quality stuff. Like you my most recent order is stamped 16; I'll be anxious to try shooting some of it.
I've had very good luck with their 5.56 in the past so I'm expecting the same from this.

Ammo prices really bite moose these days.
I will officially retired Sept. 1st, I am already doing a lot of shooting and getting back into this hobby again. There ha been about an 8 years hiatus.
I will pull out the old ammo and shoot that but replace one for one with new.
Though expensive, I know my family will appreciate the ammunition later.
Geez, some of my ammo was cheap by today's standards. I mean, 7.62X51 for 17 cents a round, 5.56 M193 for less than 10 cents, 9mm at a nickel each, it goes on and on.

I hope so. I intend to shoot a box through Big Green tomorrow with my oldest daughter. If it does well, off to storage with it and out come older 7.62X51, probably Radway Green stamped 1984. It's Berdan primed.
I pick it up and then it goes into my recycle bin I put curbside every 2 weeks. It must look weird to the truck guy when a few hundred casings are on top of the pile.
If I shoot boxer primed, I keep it.
Being the ammoholics we are isn't easy, but it sure is fun.

Prvi 5.56 and 7.62 is great. I haven't shot it at distance, only out to about 150yds and it never fails to go bang and clang the steel targets. Not overly accurate, but neither is the M80 or M193 round it is typically contracted to meet.

I will go check the pricing on the Prvi 5.56. The Serbs did fight a war fairly recently so I figure their ammunition production should be really good.
Practice make perfect, you know?

Don't worry, you are an ammoholic.
First off, the name Ammoholics Anonymous is a misnomer. It's the exact opposite of what the words mean.
The rules to the club are simple.
We are not anonymous. We do not have a problem. We are not seeking help We don't need help (unless help means sending us more ammunition free of charge) We are unrepentant Plus we are right about what we do.
What's not to love about Ammoholics Anonymous?

Hi I am Roy and I am an Ammoholic!!
Our middle son has just moved out.
My wife wants to use that bedroom as a sewing room with a single bed in it for when my older brother comes and stays for a few days as he always does over Christmas.
Wife bought these four bed risers at the thrift store to raise the bed frame up so she can gain more room under it for storage.
Ammoholic me said take them damn bed risers back we can use four 50 caliber filled ammo cans instead.
I am running out of room in my side of the closet and under my side of the bed.
When I go out and shoot about 200 rounds to three hundred rounds I feel compelled to replace it with at least 500 rounds just because.
