She was part of my late 80s music culture.
I remember hearing her for the first time on WRAS Album 88 in 87-88 and was blown away by her style.
There was nothing else like it.

O’Connor may have been a little nuts, but the “I do not want what I havn’t got” album brings me back to the beaches of Okinawa and 2 of the best years of my life.

She took a somewhat okay Prince song (Nothing Compare2U) and made it her own, causing many people to believe that it was Prince who covered her.

I thought that whole album was great, I loved her quiet but powerful singing style; I’ll likely give it a listen tonight and relive some great memories.

I get the joke, but it still violates forum guidelines.

Don't you see members getting told to not make fun of her appearance? And hasn't this been a policy in this forum for more than a decade?

Do you have any idea how many times I have reminded members of this policy? Members who should know better.

Scores of times, if not hundreds of times, I have had to remind members who should not need reminding. You're one of them. I shouldn't have to tell you this.

It's difficult for me to hold my temper when I have to do this over and over, and sometimes, I do not hold my temper. I am holding it now, but I am very tired of having to remind members about refraining from this juvenile stuff.

This, along with refraining from interjecting politics into apolitcal threads, are the two things I have to keep telling members over and over and over and over, and I am sick and tired of telling members who should damn well know better about some of the most basic and long-standing policies in this forum.

I just texted a Catholic friend of mine a picture of her with the caption “Dead!”

Great voice but, holy hell what a smoldering dumpster fire of a life. She singlehandedly got people's attention with Gaelic names and pronunciation back when she first started.

She got uglier as she got older and I'm not talking about her appearance.

Then, given things as they are in this thread, perhaps it would have been wiser for choose different phraseology from the rich toolbox that is the English language.
