Top RFK Jr. Adviser Calley Means Resigns From Trump Administration Over Food Policy Delays
Means said he will keep backing Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s food agenda after leaving the White House amid delays on two priorities.
On Thursday, Calley Means, a senior adviser to Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., resigned from President Trump's administration. Means confirmed his exit to the Wall Street Journal but declined to explain his departure.
The White House delayed key Make America Healthy Again food priorities, including ultraprocessed food definitions and school meal standards. Sources describe Means as disillusioned by the administration's influence from special interests.
Co-Writing the book Good Energy, Means helped broker the 2024 alliance between Kennedy and Trump before driving revised dietary guidelines and FDA ingredient transparency efforts.
This departure represents a significant blow to the MAHA movement, potentially complicating Republican efforts to retain voters ahead of midterms. Some supporters have publicly criticized Trump's slow progress on food policy.
Despite leaving his formal role, Means stated he will continue working to further the Kennedy-led MAHA agenda. The administration's food policy remains contentious following the failed nomination of Casey Means last year.

GustoferThe Means' are both brilliant with regard to healthy eating. Their loss in the movement is kind of a big deal.
As to the original question, no, I don't believe that it has been a failure. However, like Means, I don't believe that it is moving nearly fast enough.

It is long past time for a Convention of States. The Founding Fathers gave us this tool to fix an out of control government and we need to use it.

Think you’d immediately recognize a bioengineered food at the grocery store? Look closer. The disclosure may not appear the way you expect.
Here are the identifiers you need to recognize:
1. The green bioengineered symbol. It shows a sun, field, and plant and can look like a healthy-food logo at first glance. Look closely for wording indicating the food is bioengineered or derived from bioengineering.
2. An electronic or digital disclosure. You may see a scannable code accompanied by instructions directing you to additional food information, along with required access information.
3. A written disclosure. This is the obvious one: wording such as “Bioengineered food” or “Contains a bioengineered food ingredient.”
4. A text-message disclosure. The package may provide a phone number and instructions to text a keyword for bioengineered food information.
The biggest takeaway? Don’t assume you’ll always see “BIOENGINEERED” prominently displayed on the package.
Learn what these disclosures look like and start checking the back of your food before putting it in your cart.
None of those are the 'identifiers' you'd likely see or easily find when it comes to 'Bioengineered' food.
- Look for 'NON-GMO Project Verified', which means NO GMO's and therefore NOT Bioengineered.
- 'USDA Organic' is better still in that it means Certified Organic AND Non-GMO!

I would agree with these statements.

LunaseeI'm at an age now that I want to eat all the "bad stuff" that tastes great. Fats, butter, gravy, sauces, salt, get in my belly!

As it turns out none of that is 'really' bad for you. They've been lying to everyone, or simply wrong all this time.
- Trans-fats ARE bad for you...Saturated Fats, not so much.
- Margarine IS bad for you...Butter not so much.
- Sodium (in processed foods) IS bad for you...Table Salt, not so much.
Everything in moderation.

My mother is 95 years old. She plays 9 hole of golf twice each week. She walks a 1.5 mile loop around her village on days she doesn't golf.
Her motto has always been "Everything in Moderation". It seems to be solid advice.
