Good morning collective,

I have been connecting the phone calling/audio feature of my 2011 Toyota Venza via Bluetooth with my iPhone SE (2nd Gen) for months and months now. After recently updating to the latest iOS on my phone, the phone audio through my car's system is now choppy and broken. I really never listen to music over Bluetooth in the car, so I don't know if it's global or just isolated to the phone.

At any rate, I've tried deleting the phone from the car's system and reconnecting; didn't help or remedy the issue. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, were you able to fix it??

Thanks for any ideas or input!! erj

Maybe the phone is overtaxed with the new OS and slowing apps when it gets choked?

As a test, how is the phone playing music through its own speaker? If it's choppy doing that, it's not the car or BT.

Thanks for the response.

Music from the phone itself works fine...Point of Know Return rocked pretty good. Big Grin

Added note…the “skipping” audio is only on my end. Those that I call say their audio sounds fine with call recipients being both on their phone or connected to their car’s system.

Similar problems reported with other iPhone models after the iOS 16.0 upgrade.

OK…good to hear it’s just not isolated to me. Helps me prove, on some level, I’m not kookoo for Cocoa Puffs, though that’s been debated.

Thanks for that tidbit of intel, henry!! [thumbs up]

Good to know. I'll avoid installing it since my SE (2) is doing just fine as is. Thanks.

Ah. Was puzzled at first, but finally figured out what that would be used for. Thanks, PASig…will give that a shot. I might have that exact cable lying around somewhere……

I do not recall a buggier iOS release in some time. Three bug fix releases (16.0.1, .2, and .3) before they can even get 16.1 out. From reading the beta testers forums, I believe the car audio problem is fixed in 16.1, releasing later this month.

If one has an older vehicle and has a 3.5mm Aux input Highly suggest getting one of these.
Gives you the full functionality of Apple CarPlay.
Bluetooth really knocks down the audio quality compared to a direct wired connection.
That little unit kill a few birds with on stone.
