I’ve been looking around and searching here and elsewhere for recommendations for a range or light weight battle belt with the Cobra buckle.

I originally was looking at the RDRGear Enhanced Instructor belt, and I think it would still be a great option when they have their sale with the included mag pouches. I decided I didn’t need the MOLLE and I wanted more universal pouches.

I also looked at Blue Alpha Gear https://www.bluealphagear.com/...-75-double-belt-rig/ which is probably my next choice after what I bought if I wanted a D ring buckle. Also, I didn’t want the 1.5” inner belt or special order a 1.75” inner. And it’s a little more than the one I bought.

Ultimately, I ended up with an ESSTAC belt as it had the 1.75” inner Velcro belt and it’s adjustable on both sides with the ability to remove either side of the Cobra buckle.

Like some others, it has a poly liner in the outer belt but it not as stiff as a stiff USPSA belt.

I also bought their twin pistol mag pouch with the gap for larger base pads and a single Mid height slick AR pouch. I attached them with thei ESSTAC clips.

Total cost was $153 with the belt, mag pouches and mounting clips.

The pistol mags are secure and the AR mag is very snug. No worries about losing them. I’ve added a retention holster mounted via a Safariland QLS on the Mid ride UBL.

Photos to follow and testing this weekend. I’ll also be using this setup for The Tactical Games in New Mexico in the spring.
