Quite a few Cuban emigre co-workers during my time in south Florida. One of the best was a younger fella who was determined that I would learn Spanish.
Working with him in Coral Gables, he took me to a local Publix to grab lunch, the ladies at the deli counter appeared to not speak English.
He tells me "I told you that you'd learn Spanish! You won't order lunch in English today"
I told him I knew how to point.
