Unapologetic Old School Curmudgeon |
These are the last things I need with being a middle aged fat guy, but they are awesome and they only sell them from Sep - March, and they finally returned to my local grocery store this week. YUMMY!!!!!! Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

I never realized they were seasonal. Once in a great while I'll buy a box, which just reminds me that they're not as good as I want them to be

They're a cookie! You know, I've never had them. Going to have to fix that. "If Gun Control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome" - Cam Edwards

I didn't either. I've bought them all times of the year in the distant past. Haven't had one in a long time, though.

Never had a Mallomars. Come to think of it I don't recall ever having seen any. That said way way back when I had a Mallo Cup or two. Okay, but definitely not a fav. Not really crazy about marshmallow stuff. Snowballs were always one of those things that sounded great then was just ok when I would go to eat them.

What’s a Mallomar a baby moon pie?

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do. |
Must be a regional thing. I have never heard of them before. Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.

Don't Panic |
Micro-regional, apparently. Supposedly New York City metro area consumes 70% of production. Link

I'm not a big candy or cookie eater (which I gather these prolly are), but I have never, ever heard of them either. How 'bout a pic? UPDATE: Found photos on the 'net. Sorry, look sickeningly sweet to me, but if you might like them, I hope you'll enjoy them. BobThis message has been edited. Last edited by: straightshooter1,

I'd love to find Moon Pies. Haven't seen them in decades.

NYC and Tennessee? lol George Carlin used to mention them in a joke. I saw a big display of them in the grocery store about an hour ago, almost took a picture. I would have had I known many people don't know what they are. Don't care for em myself.
One "cookie" and about four times the cream. This message has been edited. Last edited by: cas, _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

Lots of Moon Pies here in Florida, have been since I was a kid. Waaay back then it was thought to be necessary to have a Moon Pie with an RC Cola. I didn't much care for Moon Pies and would rather have a Coke. Then, when I was in the Army, and was between visits to that SE Asian Tropical Paradise, in 1967, a big radio station held a contest to determine what Billie Joe and whats her name threw off that Tallahatchie Bridge-most entries seemed to claim it was a Moon Pie and RC Cola. Good place for 'em. Still wanna see a pic of the Mallomar. Bob

My wife is from NYC. Malomars have been her favorite since she was a kid. Her sister still sends them to her. Just this week, she found them here in Iowa. Happy wife!

When I bought them as a kid the main thing I recall was the sugar headache they gave me when I ate one. Those things are nasty health wise. The “POLICE" Their job Is To Save Your Ass, Not Kiss It The muzzle end of a .45 pretty much says "go away" in any language - Clint Smith
