Craigslist fishing boat find
Slick Alumacraft 16.5' tiller steer w/ Suzuki 50hp 4 stroke. Great shape, one owner, 82 year old man. Much extra equip, 4 props, trim & tilt, good electronics, 2007 boat/motor on 2018 trailer. I usually sell them but it may take a while to let this one go. Had to travel 150 miles to get it and seller had 2 back ups if I passed.

Alumacraft makes a great boat. I've had my little MV14 about 36 years , or more.

That one looks very nice. Congrats .

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Wow! That is so clean it looks like it never left a showroom. That would be nice to have here in Florida.

And the price is, or is that a secret?

I think it will bring around $8500 but I'm not going to advertise it until I've used it some. This one may be a keeper. Smile

Nice boat! Yeah, you might want to keep that one for a bit.

Man that’s fancy!!

I got a 14’ feather raft from my granddad with a maybe four horse Johnson kicker and a five gallon gas tank....the places that boat has gone...

I gave it to my big bro when I got transferred from Florida. He had it for at leas another decade before he sold it.

It looks like a nice and really clean boat. I'd change fluids and filters on the engine and use it for a while. I bet you could use it for a few years and always get your money back. I'm guessing it's going to be pretty fast with a 50hp on it. I have a 14' Sylvan V-hull with a 25hp similar to that boat many years ago and it did 32 mph........

Looks brand new. Four props ... backups, or are there different pitch or thickness props for different applications?

I sold my 2001 Ranger XLT in 2006 to an old man. 82k miles, looked brand new like that boat. He called me the following day after his guy had it on a lift and told me how pleased he was in its near-new condition. What goes around comes around.

Seeing a boat like that makes me want to have one when the residence location agrees; hope I can get a clean maintained deal like yours.

In my neck of the woods, the Memphis Craigslist has about 50 boats for sale, all for $1,000 or less (per the ad). Then you call them, and find out what they REALLY want for it.

No idea why CL thinks it's good business to allow that mess to go on, but they don't care, even if you flag 'em all.

Your boat is a great find, and even at the selling price you're thinking about ($8500) it'd be a nice find. Unfortunately around here, it'll be listed for 1K then they'll spring the 12K asking on you when you call them....

No stealing involved, dammit Wink. It was pay the $6800 ask or get out of line. Add 300 miles and 6 hours time so I'm in at $7k before paperwork, expecting less than $200 as I have some credits and a trailer tag to transfer but bmv charges are usually a mystery. So far the only thing I've found bad is the motor toter shaft needs repair. New V head coming from Amazon $15.

I'm not sure about the props yet. 3 are alum and one is plastic. I'll probably keep one for back up and keep my eye out for a stainless steel prop. The seller did not scrimp and all the small touches are well thought out. Was used mainly on the Wabash River and small lakes in west central Indiana and it's led a soft life. No way of knowing but seller estimated 200 hours use of the outboard and the appearance bears that out. I asked why the trailer upgrade and it came new with an off brand 1200 lb rated tr w/ 12" wheels and when the bunks got soft he replaced with an Alumacraft brand 2000lb rated tr w/13" wheels, 2018 year model. Love the trailer. led lights, long tongue that folds to save space. Takes about 20' of garage space. Spare tire is perfect location and tr jack is a quality swivel jack that folds up easy. No buyer's remorse yet. Smile

Boat and trailer are nice. Motor is spectacular. Probably really low hours. Nice set up.
