It’s a cool read. The “victim” is from Okinawa and had this to say:

“Hats Off to the United States

I don’t think this would have happened in every country. Hats off to the United States. I’ve lived in several countries and Americans really help each other out. They were fantastic. Thank you!”

A crew from 4wheeler magazine happened to be nearby - in the middle of no where - and helped out.

Good story, the guy was in the right place at the right time.

For all the bad that the media and news proclaim, people helping people is what is “normal” in this country.

Pass it on -

A heart-warming read. Thank you for posting it. Smile

There's far more good-will for our fellow man in this country than the puppet masters would like to see, or let us believe exists. Don't give up, don't let others around you give up. This is a fundamental American attitude.

been on that trail , its wonderful.

I dis agree with him tightening down the turnbuckles sup tight.

I would want the frame and body to flex a lot in that terrain .

the camper should not be acting like a rigid frame.

that will eventually cause leaking problems in the camper.

a little play between the camper and bed would be a good thing i.m.o.

cool story though

Great story. I off-road through the Eastern Sierras including Death Valley, that area is familiar territory. Any off-roading on the Eastside of CA, you better bring Loctite, JB Weld and a few other tools. Everything will rattle loose and you'll need a Costco-sized bottle of Ibuprofen for some of the bulldozer/washboard roads.

Interesting that the author is from Scotland but, now lives in Okinawa. He's the VP of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology

For some reason, this line cracks me up. Much the same as being in a foxhole in the rain, and all you can do is laugh at your predicament. At least he had some pictures, because Lucas doesn’t make cameras. Smile

That’s when I realized something wasn’t the same. It was a punch in the mouth. The camper wasn’t anywhere in sight.

This happened to me once when motorcycling with a friend on the back. We stopped at a convenience store and got back on the road. Five minutes later I realize he's not on the bike. My friend later told me I came out of the store, hopped on the bike, and took off without him. Eek

Great camper story. I'll be roughing it in a month or so in a Subaru. The trip after will likely be in a 2WD pickup. I've been meaning to try the Perkinsville Road, Jerome to Williams ...

Woodman, when you get here and head out perkinsville road from Jerome, hit me up. I’m ten minutes from Jerome, right at the bottom if the hill. We can grab a bite to eat or something.
