Ruffles or Wavy Lays?
If you like BBQ chips, Grippo's are the best I've had.
Cincinnati brand. Not sure how far their distribution is.

I'm a purist. I don't want butter or flavoring on my popcorn, or flavorings on my potato chips (salt is OK). Exception: Caramel popcorn.

Out of the two mentioned, it's a toss-up to me. Almost all chips you find in a grocery store nowadays use some type of cheap oil that just doesn't taste that great. For years, we bought Zapp's potato chips. They used 100% peanut oil which we like for fried foods. For the last few years, I assume since they were sold to Utz, it's now a blend of peanut oil and/or canola, corn, sunflower, etc. They just don't taste the same. Another brand we used to buy has shifted to a blend that includes cottonseed oil and/or palm oil. We rarely buy potato chips anymore but do make them at home.

I prefer wavy but for some reason eat far more ruffles. Family pressure dictates the Ruffles.

Wavy lats because the ridges give them enough strength to pair with some deans dip. Probably been 5 years since I’ve had any but I remember them as fantastic.

Nestles or Hershey. same difficult decision. In my world, they're all good.

I like some varieties of Lays but not the Wavy. I like to make onion dip about twice a year and the chips have to be Ruffles.

Gibbles Red Hot Chips are the king of the chip mountain in my book.

However, to be of some use to the OP, I would prefer Wavy Lays, especially Hickory BBQ. They are less greasy and thus more appetizing than ruffles.

In Detroit we bought New Era potato chips in a metal can. No deliveries, though. And Vernor's Ginger Ale (it was invented in Detroit).

Lays all the ways. I prefer their flavor. Only eat Ruffles when there's no other choice. As to other brands, bring 'em on; I'll try them.

I’ve been eating Ruffles for years. Never heard of Wavy Lays till this thread. Might try them. Used to eat nothing but Tim’s for years, but I switched to Ruffles about 3 years ago.

I tried them with my sammich, and liked 'em, maybe better than Ruffles.

She needs a grabber arm or a stepstool. Ruffles are worth it.

While I like Ruffles or other brands of "wavy" chips, my true love is kettle cooked chips... whether they be plain, BBQ, sour cream and onion, etc.!
