Meet Spot, the robot dog that can run, hop, and open doors.
This is simultaneously fascinating and spooky. From the aspect of "use your powers for good," this can be an absolutely incredible platform for further development.
I've watched a lot of videos on Spot and Atlas. The crew at Boston Dynamics is a bunch of geniuses and hard workers, no doubt.
God bless America.

When will we see one that can run at 50 mph wearing titanium/composite armor and a short barreled, small caliber co-ax with 1000 round load-out and multiple shaped charge anti-armor limpet munitions? Imagine a whole pack of them on a modern battlefield. It’s coming...

Oh, I would definitely have programmed that for the presentation!

Boston Dynamics is clear they don't want "the platform" used for that, but we all know some third party is already drooling over the possibilities.
God bless America.

Oldie but a goodie. The first thing I though of was military use. It could be sent ahead for surveillance or used for something as simple as hauling ammo.
Imagine a unit pinned down on a mountainside in Afghanistan and getting low on ammo. You could send a pack of these up loaded with .556 to replenish supplies. Or a myriad of other uses.

Let's see that bucket of bolts leap into a lake in the early morning hours and retrieve ducks for us. That's not a 'dog'. That's a tech project.
