Now the majority are just paying cash.
They are probably cashing out all the equity in their homes now that home prices have gone insane.

AKSuperDuallyThese costs are highly localized.
Your poll doesn't go high enough for my local prices.

OKCGene^^^ Yeah the price of electrical wiring sucks too. I've been pricing electric wire for a ham radio antenna project.
I got a phone call this morning that a ham radio buddy of mine was clearing out the estate of a fellow ham who passed away, and to come by.
I was looking at the ham radio equipment when I saw a big box of electrical wiring. I bought all of it, mostly 12 & 14 AWG solid and stranded insulated wire, just what I needed, probably about 400 feet, maybe 500 all together of it, and just got home with it. It was a bargain. Glad to have it. Very glad.
I was pricing some solid copper #6 or #4 for grounding purposes, my gosh the price is out of sight, just crazy. Also the lugs to use with it are outrageous.
Did a bit of caulking recently, same story out of reason expensive.
AS to lumber prices, my handyman contractor guy recently finished my bathroom shower remodel due to a shower leak. He told me going in that the lumber would cost a heckuva lot more than I'd believe, and he was right. At the time 2x4x8 were something like $10-$11 bucks each, plus all the other lumber, etc.
Prices are out of control.
There was a story in the local news a few days ago of someone got busted by the cops for going to new home construction areas and stealing lumber. Gee I wonder why.
