Largely what's going on in the rest of Europe. Spain has the problem that, at points, it's only 10 miles away from Africa. They're getting a lot of what we'd consider illegal immigration. But I have a feeling their law tolerates it.

Pat Buchanan wrote a book in 2002 or so called "The Death of the West: How Dying Populations and Immigrant Invasions Imperil Our Country and Civilization". It's a good read and he warned about this then. Unfortunately Spain has done nothing about it. It's sad. Feminism has done as much to kill modern Spain as Islam has. Young Spanish women in their twenties have been focused on their careers and living with their parents. Now they must flee even to get a job. Meanwhile the Muslims are breeding like rabbits. They will vote themselves into power soon.

Soft conquest is like passive aggression. If met with appropriate resistance to suppress it, the original transgressor can claim falsely the moral high ground and establish victim status. This is made easier by fuzzy headed PC thinking. By the time the world learns what needs to be done, it will be too late.

For a country who's unemployment ranges between 15-20%, they can't afford to have unskilled and zero-capitol immigrants/ex-pats pouring in. People can gripe about all the Brits retiring to S.Spain, however, they're bringing their pensions and spending it in the country. Not sure what the Muslims are bring other than a romantic and aspirational vision of reconquista of Al-Andalus.

Accurate. At one point way back when the Muslims had taken control of a large part of Spain.

So what else is new? Muslims do not assimilate into any country they invade and adopt its customs and culture. They will accede to those for a while when a small minority, but when there are about 5% of them in the population they start taking over and trying to turn that place into a hell-hole similar to where they came from. (So do Leftist Californians, but that's another story.)
