Hopefully this will reduce the effect of court shopping, at least somewhat.

Its not going to stop the practice of the left bringing these suits to court, however it sends a message to the lower courts that it won't hold once it gets to SCOTUS, maybe a few of the activist judges will reconsider granting stays...

Glad he did it, but until we get more constitutional judges appointed or pass some law that prohibits the practice the left will continue doing this.

They don't care if it makes SCOTUS approval, that's just a bonus, all they care about is slowing down any R POTUS that's it...

It is a warning to the lower courts that the Supremes (or at least some of them) have their eye on this issue. Lower judges don't like to be reversed, so it does have an effect of curbing some of the criticized behavior.

Can the Chief Justice summarily (abeit temporarily) stay these nationwide injunctions once they reach SCOTUS or it has to take a SCOTUS writ of certiorari??

No.
