I miss cluster bombs. Or at least "DPICM in effect, over." Maybe simple VT would do it. But stil, 300 fighters? That's like a whole division in the ISIS TO&E. Fuck them up, please.

If the story is correct, I do not see where the US was a party to this 'deal'. No reason to let these enemy combatants get away. Vaporize that convoy.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. I have GOs tell me regularly that the idea of winning is outdated. Shameful.

We need a return to a William Tecumseh Sherman mentality on war:

quote:

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

War is the remedy that our enemies have chosen, and I say let us give them all they want.

I would make this war as severe as possible, and show no symptoms of tiring till the South begs for mercy.

War is cruelty. There is no use trying to reform it. The crueler it is, the sooner it will be over.

Every attempt to make war easy and safe will result in humiliation and disaster.

That was a good one. They could make a bumper stick with that slogan. I think you remember his suggestions for Vietnam, the Cuban missile crisis etc. Something about bombing them back to the Stone Age comes to mind.
