Elk hunting tag cleared. Bear hunting area found. New rifle sighted in for deer season.

I’m ready to put it mildly.

I got back about 10 days ago from prairie dogging out West with the 15 y/o Son. To me that’s as good as any ‘fall’ hunting season.

We had great weather & plenty of cooperative doggies. I should take the fishing boat out, back to working a fair amount now.

Oh yeah, fall is my favorite time. I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet in my tree stand. It's another world up north!

Sorta, kinda, not really...Fall is my favorite season, but I hate the fact that winter is the season to follow. Not that I hate winter, I just hate below zero weather, I like snow, it can be beautiful...Just ordered new tires for my jeep...lol..

Can't wait for archery season. This year is the 1st year hunting for my 14yr old and 12yr old kids. They have been working hard to get ready.

Yep, I love dove and deer seasons.

Dove season is the perfect mixture of firearms, outdoors, friends/family, and fun. I can sit on a fence row, visit with my young boys, and then all of the sudden, we're covered in dove.

Deer season is a bit different. Usually go solo. Nothing like sitting over a field as the sun rises and watching the whitetail seemingly appear from nowhere.

Nope...I am working in PA, great hunting state but I am a non-resident Frown

Almost tempted to get my PA DL so I can hunt.

We are not renewing our lease in Hunt Co. because we only get out there once or twice a year.

Too busy Mad

What really sucks is I have a Browning Citori on layaway....found it for $650 in a local pawn shop. Was really hoping to do dove this year....the guys...the guns...the women on ATVs bringing you breakfast in bikinis

All year I look forward for hunting albacore tuna. August-October is the time period they may show up on the west coast.

I'm jealous as can be! Most of the year I'm plenty busy doing plumbing, then along comes heating season and I'm swamped.

After 50 years of customers, I get no time to hunt, I buy my license in hopes to get a day here or there, but no luck.

Retirement is my best hope to put all the hunting equipment to use.

I certainly am. Normally I am busy fishing and not giving much thought to hunting this time of the year but we have been foooded for months, it seems, and I haven’t wetted a single hook. Giving me plenty of time to think hunting.

Normally I get started when our archery season opens October 1st but this year I planned a Maine black bear hunt for the week of Labor Day. Unfortunately that isn’t going to work out so I am considering a South Dakota antelope hunt the same week.

Our duck season starts the 3rd weekend in October. This year for the 1st time I'm flying to Houston in mid-Septembre for their teal opener, and dove in the afternoon.

Yep, I'm looking forward to fall and hunting season!

I've always been chomping at the bit this time of year, but I caught the fly fishing bug this last year, and right now all I can think about is why those %^&* trout in the Little Red River didn't want a single one of the flies I floated by them. The little bastiches actually moved aside on several occasions to allow a tasty nymph to just float on by them. Mad Maybe I'd come around if one of my Sigforum landowning brethren in CO would invite me to come fill a land owner elk tag.....

For decades I'd live for the hunting and fishing in the fall in the great northwest. Deer, elk, ducks and geese, salmon and steelhead. Then I got old. Fall and winter are now on my hate list because of the cold and snow. Frown

I do miss it though. Some of the best memories I have took place in the fall and early winter. Oh well, all things end at one time or another. At least I have a lot of stories about my hunting and fishing adventures.

Jim
