Out Of Spec Shoe? Login/Join

This is the strangest thing. I ordered a pair of slip on shoes from Skechers recently and the right shoe is noticeably loose feeling on my foot? Almost like it’s a half or even full size larger, but it’s marked inside and on the bottom with the correct size which is 10W. The left shoe feels perfect.

Is it possible I was sold a shoe that is out of spec? I know that people sometimes have one foot that is slightly larger than the other but this feels like I’m wearing two different shoe sizes.

I’m going to contact customer service and explain the situation and see if they will do an exchange or something I guess.

Has anyone ever seen this? It’s a first for me.

I’ve had that happen several times over the years. I think they just get mismarked.

Yep. Quality control in China and Vietnam is the problem. You will not find that with 500 dollar Italian leather shoes.

Bingo right there. Or top of the line Brooks running shoes or racing flats. You get what you pay for. Cars, guns, shoes...

Its not uncommon to get mismatched sizes.

People try them on and put the wrong shoes in the two boxes.

The cashier's are supposed to check mates at the register prior to bagging them up.

It happens

A mismatched shoe somewhere along the production or supply line is certainly possible. Or your foot shrank.

At my work we received a reman starter from the parts store that was covered in dirt and grease. It was likely a core (the original, exchanged part) that somewhere along the chain was missed and not checked, up to and including the point of sale. And a new-in-box valve cover that had a piece broken off it. Externally the box was undamaged, so it had to have been put in the box that way.

There’s a price/quality relationship that offers an explanation as to how on out of spec shoe might find it’s way into the box.
