A Weber Genesis II S-435 from Ace.

https://www.acehardware.com/de...s/gas-grills/8016636

We've had our Weber Genesis II Silver for @ 20 years and it's getting tired. The thermometer stopped working recently when I was rotisserie cooking a leg of lamb. Had to break out my Fluke multi-meter and the temp probe to get a reading. Smile

Ordered this grill yesterday along with the rotisserie, wood chip smoker and a cover.

I offered the old grill to daughter and her fiance, they jumped at it, so off it goes in the near future to make way for the new. I ordered a new thermometer and cleaned out the grease management system, so it will be ready to rock and roll when they get it.

Not sure I will ever use the right side saute burner, but Weber doesn't make this model without it.

Cooked many a fine meal in our old one. Baby back ribs or a chicken on the rotisserie are awesome. It has a wood chip burner in it which I have always used with Luhr-Jensen hickory or mesquite.

The orientation of the burners in the new one will present a learning curve for indirect cooking, but I look forward to crossing that bridge.

Do you have one? Another brand? What do you like about it?

I ordered parts directly from Weber on Monday and received them Thursday for my 2009 Genesis. New burner tubes, new ignitor, and new flavorizer bars. The cabinet and grill box are in good condition and it was $150 in parts or $850 for a new equivalent.

I needed $10 worth of parts and drill bits from the hardware store. The two large screws holding the gas valve assembly snapped and required drilling out. It took about an hour and a half including the trip to Ace, but it's fixed. Cooked steaks last night, burgers tonight, and hot dogs tomorrow. I also have a 16lb brisket that I'll need to do something with.

I've never had another grill last 10 years. Other grills weren't worth repairing either.

Happy grilling!

Great grills. The price of most grills have gotten out of hand for sure.

I bought a Weber Summit grill center back in November and finally ran the natural gas line to it yesterday.
I'm trying to decide on my first grilling tonight.I have a whole chicken and a prime rib roast to chose from.
I think for a first outing I would be safer to experiment on a Chicken but the Rib Roast sure is inviting, what could go wrong lol.

You asked what could go wrong....
Was the grill you bought for natural gas or propane? If propane, did you install the conversion kit?

Excellent! I'm thinking I should do the same for my daughter.
The old one has been awesome though.

I bought a Weber Spirit 3 burner right before everything really started to go upside down as final preps,I was nursing along a 12 yr old Kenmore that only had 2 burners that worked. I'm a fan of it so far.

I have a Weber Genesis S 330......it's a great grill. The side burner comes in REAL handy after a hurricane or during a power outage. I've had mine almost 5 years now and it's holding up well.

I am mid kitchen remodel. I've been cooking every meal on my Genesis. Great grill. I'd did finally give up and realize my kitchen isn't getting finished any time soon so I installed outlet and hooked up my new oven. I'll still be using my Genesis for most of my cooking, but nice to have a cooktop again.

I can't recommend the Genesis line enough. I've owned two, first one was 20 years old when I replaced it, a trip to Fastenal would have her fixed for <$5, but I wanted something new and shiny. Current iteration has been going strong for ~8 years. Cast iron grills rusted asked Weber for correct replacement SS ones, they said don't bother, new grates in the mail free of charge. Replaced thermometer after year 6 or 7, replaced ignitor at same time. First use of the grill I misrouted the gas line, caught it on fire, was seconds away from something really bad happening. Called Weber, asked for replacement part, they said free of charge, I explained I screwed up, nope still free of charge.

One of our wedding presents was the mid size Weber Kettle. Still have it and use it for camping. We used up a couple full size kettles, but eventually decided coals were a bit much and went for the gas Genesis silver.

Looking forward to the new grill. I suppose I'll burn a box worth of hickory chips in it to season it for use.

Anyone use the rotisserie? It's the main event in ours. Indirect heat and rotisserie is off the hook.

Love it. I didn't go with the Weber branded one, can't remember why though.

Love our Genesis. Added the extra thick stainless grates from the Summit line I think, maybe $100.
