"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I've been wondering when some clarification of this issue would come forth. Those commercials are definitely misleading. Regarding putting money back in one's Social Security check, the only way I could see that happening would be cancellation of Medicare Part B, which is paid by deduction from SS checks. I can't do that, anyway, because my eligibility for Tricare for Life depends on having Med B.

One of the ads is by a Black guy who has a really irritating voice ("Call NEEEOOWWW!")

^^^ Thats Jimmy "JJ" Walker. He was in a sitcom in the mid 70s. His catch phrase was "Dyn-O-Mite".
He has not aged well. And he must be desperately broke to shill for a Medicare scam.

Everyone in that video is at least 45 years away from eligibility & must collectively be thinking, “I hope this exists when I retire”. Btw, Joe Namath looks like a deflated football. So glad they’ve yanked his ass off the air..

It doesn't look like anything is going to happen. The video is dated 10/2021.

Having spent almost 25 years doing contract work for Homeland Security I can truthfully say I only saw one guy who worked there who actually worked and he only worked around 3 hours a day but compared to the rest he was a ball of fire.

There is a program called Low Income Subsidy that pay's the Part B premium on behalf of someone who qualifies; thus "putting money back in their pocket".

These commercials are nothing but bait and switch scams. And yes, in their current form these TV based scams will likely be going away in the next year or two. Between the shady as fuck healthcare lobby, shady as fuck call centers (especially overseas) and CMS moving at the blazing speed of Government, it's just going to take a while.

But don't worry, with literally one quarter of the entire US budget (and about 15% of the total US economy) tied into Medicare and Medicaid there's plenty of exciting, new scams just waiting to pick up where Shatner, Namath and the rest leave off.

Hey I was just happy that my Part B money covers my Advantage Plan!

Part B has nothing to do with your Advantage plan other than being one of the qualifying factors. Your plan is most likely offered at zero premium (there are exceptions though). The Advantage plan is paid a certain amount every month by Medicare. The Advantage plan assumes all risk/liability of any health care costs you incur. If you don't use your plan in a calendar month then the Advantage plan makes a profit of what Medicare paid the plan for that month. It's why Advantage plans often can offer additional benefits Original Medicare doesn't, and Medicare Supplements usually don't.
