Got into a show in Northville at the end of March. Any info on places to eat, stay or activities worth sticking around a day or two for would be appreciated. There are a few thing's in Ann Arbor that interest me but I don't really see myself venturing into Detroit. Would staying in Ann Arbor or Plymouth be my best bet?

There are some very nice places in Northville Pooles Tavern is a favorite of ours The Center Street Grille is new Table 5 is upscale Koji's has very nice sushi There is new brew pub on Center Street across from Krogers, name escapes me Downtown Plymouth offers many, many choices of eateries as well. Driving in from Ann Arbor? 20-25 minutes on M-14 unless there is a problem during rush hour... Enjoy your visit Best regards, Mark in Michigan

Northville, Novi, Livonia, Plymouth all share borders and are the nicer suburbs in the NW part of Metro Detroit. Email me for more details, perhaps we can even connect. How long you going to be in town? How much free time will you have? One place that you should not miss, while you're here: The Henry Ford Museum. I'd suggest Greenfield Village, too, but I'm not sure of it this time of year. "America is at that awkward stage. Northville, with the inclusion of Novi and Plymouth mentioned previously, are what would be considered uppper-middle class 'bedroom communities'. Centrally located between Ann Arbor and Detroit for easy access to both locations, but not exactly what you would consider 'happening' cities. For food and drink in Northville:
Garage Grill - Good food, albeit pricey for classic type American fare. Le George - Mediterranean food, supposed to be good but we've never been. Lucy & the Wolf - Cocktail bar, small. Koji - Good sushi as mentioned above, we prefer Shiro just north of downtown a mile or two. Center Street Grille - Bought and remodeled a Northville staple (Starting Gate) and is try really hard to fit in. Good food and drinks, service seems to be hit or miss and wait times can be excessive with open tables visible... Bricks - Large bar with lots of TVs, good drinks and decent food. I somewhat disagree with the Poole's suggested above, it's a good bar to grab a beer and some fried food at but it wouldn't be my first choice by any means. In short, I'd seek entertainment outside of the general Northville area but you'll be all set from a food and beverage standpoint.

Looking like I'll be in town 4 days with the show being 2 of those days and setup being half of another so I'll have a day to day and a half free and might stick around for a 5th day. Thanks for the suggestions and an e-mail is incoming Rightwire.

If you can put it together let me know.
