Please site your source.

Can we at least provide credit to Samaritan’s Purse for providing healthcare services in New York without submitting a bill to New York.

Many of us provide funds to Samaritan’s Purse so that they may provide aid to others.
Nothing is asked in return, but please resist the urge to criticize an organization that provides help to others with a largely volunteer workforce. Their 2018 tax return shows 2,965 employees and 192,000 volunteers.

For more information on services provided here is the website: Samaritan’s Purse
We're talking about people that volunteered to go there and in many cases get paid 3x-4x their normal pay rate, plus lodging provided... So yeah, it may still be worth it to them.
Please provide your source for this information that people are receiving 3 to 4 times their normal pay? Most volunteers are probably receiving their normal salary plus overtime and maybe a 5 or 10% deferential for working a 2nd or 3rd shift. Per diem isn't considered income and while it includes lodging these people aren't on vacation. As a demonstration of appreciation how hard would it be to provide a waiver to out of state volunteers to reduce their tax burden to NYS? People who volunteer to enter a disaster area do so because they have a genuine desire to help others and money isn't really their objective for volunteering. Working 12-18 hours a day 6 or 7 days a week isn't a vacation.

Out-of-state workers having to pay income tax while in the state may be longstanding policy and legal, but in this case it isn't right. They are doing the state a favor. Why not waive the requirement temporarily, or have them file a return and get their withheld taxes back? Every rule needs exceptions now and then.

Coumo is seen a such a hero to libtards but the SoB can’t balance a budget. NYS has a $10B + budget deficit. The revised State budget for the new fiscal year directing the $10 billion reduction prohibits cuts to public assistance benefits. But state & municipal workers could see a reduction in the pension benefits? WTF? Now Coumo appeals to the Feds for budget assistance to bail out his patronage brand of politics? Is there a theme here with a Democratic governors? Some hero Coumo is & no wonder he can’t keep seniority on his protection detail..

I don't have a dog in this race, and I'm not going to go find a link (you can Goggle it), but this was discussed in the COVID thread. Stoic-one was speaking of the 'Industry Call' (it that a real term?) for Healthcare worker 'volunteers' (Doctors & Nurses) to come to New York. Nurses were offered $10K/week, plus lodging to 'volunteer' for this gig. As I recall, a SF member had a relative (from down south?) that was going up there.

Samaritan's Purse is a completely different situation, as they are a Relief Organization, overwhelmingly staffed by volunteers and a non-profit supported by charitable giving. Franklin Graham was on Fox last night (w/ Laura Ingraham?) and spoke to the tax issue in NY, indicating that they were upscaling the payments to their paid 'volunteers' (Doctors & Nurses) to cover the add'l taxes they would be liable for in NY. Graham stated that Samaritan's Purse would absorb the tax burden to ensure that the Doctors & Nurses would receive their promised compensation for their COVID related work in NY.
