I use FCPEuro for my European cars, and I really like them. Their site is easy to navigate, good prices, great warranty, and they put together kits with all the parts needed for common services. Oil change kit, brake service kit, etc. If you have a European car, I highly recommend them.

That said, who do we like for Toyota/Lexus parts? My father in law has an 2014 RX350 that had "needed nothing but oil changes" for 80k miles. I groaned when he said that.

Since he drives my daughter around, I've taken over vehicle maintenance for his car to ensure that it is in good running order. So far it's needed new engine and cabin filters, new hood struts, the positive battery terminal was completely loose, needed new wheel locks (missing key), dehazed the headlamps, and I just did a brake fluid change. I'll probably do ignition service and transmission and differential fluid drain and refills next, so now looking for parts.

Most of vehicle maintenance supplies for me are either Walmart or Rock Auto. After that a little bit of the dedicated auto parts stores, Amazon, or even eBay.

It kinda depends, then with some vehicles things can get a little more specialized.

If the tranny fluid hasn’t been changed regularly I would leave it alone. I’m surprised it needed an engine at 80k.

These go to eleven.

What diff fluid does it take? Ran into that with my 4runner and Toyota charges a ton for that and the transfer case. Ended up going with redline as they pretty much duplicated Toyotas formula. As for the transmission, if not towing or off roading then I wouldn't bother till 100k. Brake flush would be high on the list to do though.

Please use only Toyota ATF and transfer case fluid. The real stuff. The OEM tests are very very particular and challenging to pass. The frictional characteristics of the lubricant must match the system parts.

I have used sites like lexuspartsonline and similar. Most big dealers have an online discount portal.

Generally has the best prices for online Toyota stuff.
My local dealer generally will match them so I usually buy locally.

I've used Olathe Toyota. If you ever see any transmission leaks get it fixed, there is no dips tick to check the level (I'm assuming it's the same as my old one). There was a recall for oil cooler leaks, mine was past the recall but it was easy to do.

I just went through this ordeal. Closest Lexus to me is 65 miles away. I placed an order for 1) wiper blade refill (Left, Right) and 2) Wiper blade refill rear. Paid $10 shipping.

Stupid me for not figuring out that the 1) wiper blade refill (Left, right) is priced too low to be just one. I thought it was a pair.

So I looked online and ordered Blade refill left. Paid another $10 shipping. Crap, it's still short.

Finally called and the guy gave me a part number that doesn't show up when I put my VIN. After ordering and paying another $10 in shipping, I googled for more sources as I didn't like the attitude of the person I talked to.

I found this one instead.

MyLparts

I plan on ordering from this place next time as they say they guarantee fit.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." What in the OP made you think it needs a new engine?
